Whenever you use a include file like this:

include "simmacro.inc"

the line number of error messages is no longer correct ie. helpful.

Open the .L68 file. The error message is listed.

Any chance there will be a correction to the editor such that double-clicking the error message will jump to the correct line in the .X68? I see there's the option of opening the .L68, but that's a bit cumbersome.

The assembler will open the included file that contains the error (if not already open) and display the error messages in that window. Double clicking on the error message will highlight the correct line. Still some details to work out. It should be available in the next release. (might be a few days, my primary development computer died today.)
