Requested by Lee.

I'm working on a version of the simulator that uses OpenGL for the output window.

It's for a 3D wireframe tank simulation. Very similar to BattleZone but with a 3D view option that switches from the standard green wireframe display to a red/blue 3D wireframe display.

Right now it's just an environment demo that you can drive round with some limited object animation and collision detection.

It also has a volcano. 8^)=

He he.....I was kidding around sry.

Prof. Kelly showed me a beta version of that a while back so I knew what the full screen thing was for. The version I saw didn't have many things you could do in it yet except drive around but it was impressive just to see the 3D environment.

I didn't realise you'd seen it. You can do loads of stuff! You can drive round, run into things, drive under some things, watch the choppers hovering, worry as the turrets of some of the tanks track you as you drive past, marvel at the volcano and at the crescent Earth in the sky.

Did I mention you can drive into stuff with simulated bounce AND sound effects? 8^)=

Tried it with 3D glasses yet?

All it's missing for the full game is the opponent routines, explosion routines and scoring, everything else is there already.

Lee.

The crescent Earth is directly ahead when you start, visible is East Australia and Alaska.

From the start rotatle left until the volcano is visible and you should see the first chopper. Drive until you are under this chopper then rotate right until you have a pyramid on both the left and right of the screen, now drive forward and the second chopper will appear a little to the right of screen centre.

Chuck has the latest version, when he gets the full screen mode done I'll turn it into a game proper. 8^)=

I'll be posting a new beta version of the simulator in the next couple days. It includes support for:

Full Screen I/O (not openGL yet)
Multiple monitor support.
Improved behavior for interrupts with auto Interrupts on all 7 IRQs
Live memory window.
whatever else I have time for.

I'm sure the 3 people who are still using 95 will appreciate all your hard work. :)

Send all your Windows 95 compatibility questions to ABeakyboy :)

lol thanks. I find it an awful shame to lose compatibility with older operating systems due to 3 API calls.
