Post subject:  how to detect the processor type

hi guys
i have different cpu-boards for my 68k-home-made mobo, so i have to deal with { 68000, 68010, 68030, 68060 }

i am looking for a way to detect the cpu type (1) in order to use the proper handler
e.g. the 060 is very different from 040, it has missing instructions and need a special software pack (releases by motorola) in order to work

i'd like to write an assembly subroutine that helps me to identify the cpu type

any ideas and help is welcome :)

(1) { 68000, 68010, 68020, 68030, 68040, 68060 }

I found the above with a Google search but I have not looked at the code.

Yes, somebody coded assembler procedure doing this detection and that somebody is me ;) Look on my web page:
http://romanworkshop.blutu.pl/asm68/proc.htm - platform independent routines.
http://romanworkshop.blutu.pl/menu/amiasm.htm - executable programs for Amiga.

Check best portal about Amiga computers in Poland: http://www.ppa.pl.
