Hi, everyone. I'm a 35 year old guy from Australia. I used to program demos on the Amiga years ago.

Firstly, I would like to point out that the 68000 CPU is the greatest microchip ever manufactured. The instruction set is easy to understand, yet complete and powerful. There are plenty of registers, which can work easily in byte, word or long mode. Data can be manipulated in myriad ways to get the job done.

Secondly, why the interest in 68k? Does Professor Kelly teach 68k assembly? I know of no other web forum that focuses on 68k. I wish there were many.

Richard

CIS 268 Assembly Language and Computer Architecture at MCCC uses EASy68K. So do several other colleges. The 68000 design works perfectly in our class.

I'm also an amiga guy around the same age and that's the main reason why I'm here. I want to understand more about how the amiga operates so learning about the CPU is a good place to start.
